This plauge killed around one third of the English population. This is the main cause of the two languages (English and French) to mix. This is because the Black Death made the lower classes, such as laboring and merchant classes, to grow in economic and social importance. -

The linguistic division is over and Middle English was finalized. The Statute of Pleading was adopted which made Middle English the language of the courts and was used in parliment. -
