Portable Electric Vacuum Cleaner
Invented by James Murray Spangler. The Vacuum cleaner was able to suck up dust and dirt and most importantly was portable. This impacted household management by saving lots of time and physical effort. Prior to the invention of the vacuum cleaner, people had to beat their rugs and hang them outside. The vacuum saves physical effort by sucking up dirt rather than sweeping and picking up each pile. -
Thor Electric Powered Washing Machine
The Thor had a motor attached to it to spin the cylinder with the clothes inside. This invention had a major effect on the family management because now individuals do not have to stand and scrub clothes against a soap board or stir their clothes around in a bucket of soapy water. This saved not only energy but time. -
Domestic Dishwasher
Invented in 1915 but was not sold to private families until 1930. This dramatically changed the household management because individuals no longer need to take each dish one by one and clean and dry them after each meal. This saves lots of time! Also, children will be able to help out easier by putting their plates in the dishwasher, lessening the work on the parent. -
Hand Held Hair Dryers
Hand held hair dryers allowed individuals to quickly dry their hair in their home. This definitely affected the household management because the family is able to make themselves look presentable for the day in a hurry. Without the hand held hair dryers families would have to let their dogs run around the house wet after a bath. -
Kitchen Aid
The kitchen aid invented by Herbert Johnson became huge is helping prepare meals. Especially bread and bakery items, the kitchen aid replaced stirring spoons and regular whisks. This saved the household management so much arm strength and time in stirring up doughs. -
Garbage disposal
The garbage disposal allows food to go down the sink drain and be crumbled up and go through the pipes. This helped household management because now people save time when washing dishes they do not have to scrape every single piece of food into the trash can, they can now just let it go down the sink. The garbage disposal saved time and effort. -
Individual Room Air Conditioner
H. H. Schultz and J. Q. Sherman invented the air conditioner that sat on the window ledge. This was the first air conditioner that wasn't huge and could be used in apartments. This changed the household management because individuals don't need to rest and cool down when working on tasks in the house, they are kept cool with the air conditioning. This is also easier to keep children and babies from heat exhaustion. -
Electric Can Opener
The electric can opener was able to open canned goods without much physical effort from individuals and are considered a lot safer than the older versions of can openers. This impacted the household management because now individuals do not have to spend a lot of time and effort trying to open canned goods. This is also safer because you have less chance of hurting yourself since it is electric and does the cutting for you. -
First Automatic Clothing Dryer
Invented by J. Ross Moore. The automatic dryer saved individuals time and physical effort when it landed in family's houses. Individuals no longer needed to hang clothes outside on the line for them to dry. They also do not have to postpone their clothes drying because of storms or rain. This way families can spend less time with hanging clothes and can spend time doing other activities. However, this was very expensive when it first came out so wealthier families had them in their homes. -
Microwave Oven
Discovered by Percy Spencer on accident. The microwave oven significantly changed household management by heating up foods and leftovers in just seconds or minutes. This saved so much time for families. This also helps out mothers who have to prepare meals for the family. -
Residential Air Conditioning
These air conditioning units were able to sit in the windows. These are very important to household management because more people were able to afford them and stay cool inside their homes without a unit taking up too much space. The units inside windows saved time, space, and money. -

This saves mother's time and energy. -

Hand sanitizer is a germ killing liquid people easily rub into their hands. This helps the household management by helping save time and energy. Individuals can quickly squirt some hand sanitizer in their hand instead of walking to a sink and using water and soap. HHand sanitizer is also very handy on the go. -
Resealable Zipper Storage Bags
The storage bag invention allows individuals to take snacks on the go to work or school and keep foods fresh in the fridge and freezer. This invention plays a major role in the household management because mothers are able to prepare meals nights before and keep foods fresh much longer. -

The built-in dishwasher promotes, even more, positives for mothers. Now they have more counter space for cooking, and more area to move around. Now even smaller children can help put their dishes in the dishwasher because they are able to reach it now. -

This will help families in the mornings when they are getting ready to save time, they do not have to stand and watch the coffee. This also keeps the coffee warm for a longer period of time. -

Whiteboards are a way or organizing things such as events, chores, or tasks for a household. Many families today use whiteboards as a chore chart for family members. Whiteboards help the household management by reminding individuals what they need to do. -

The VHS invention allowed families to gather together in the living room and watch movies or shows together. This plays a role in household management because families need to make time to do things together. This also may help children fall asleep or use it to encourage children. -

The swiffer is used as a mop or a broom. Individuals can quickly sweep hard surface areas fast with easy pickup. This helps individuals save time because with the swiffer you can quickly go left to right all across the floor and finish within a shorter amount of time than using a broom. Also the swiffer has a mopping option as well. -
Motion Sensored Faucets
Motion sensored faucets are able to see when your hands or objects are placed in front of the spout so water may come out. This helps household management because you save money by saving water. -

Mobile apps open a huge array of benefits for household management. There are apps to help with diet, exercise, sleep, budgets, bank accounts, paying bills, calenders, recipes, and much more. -
Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
The robotic vacuum cleaner goes around the house and vacuums the floor with no help needed. This invention helps the household management because now individuals do not even need to take time out of their week to clean the floors because a robot can do it for them. This saves individual's time and physical effort. -

Many people may argue that FaceTime does not apply to household management. However, I have used FaceTime a lot to keep in contact with far relatives. Also, FaceTime allows parents to see exactly what their children are up to if they answer. Also, Facetime allows people to find their phones if they lost theirs. -
K-Cup Maker
This technology allows everyone in the family to make their own drinks. They choose their cup from many choices like coffees, teas, cocoas, and then they simply press the cup down and start the machine. This helps the household management because it makes everyone happy and saves lots of time. This way individuals can make their own drink in their own cup and move on for the day.
