  • The First Programmable Computer

    In 1822, Charles Babbage began developing the Difference Engine, it was capable of computing several sets of numbers and making copies of the results. Unfortunatly he could not finish the project due to funding but the London Science Museum completed it in 1991.
  • The First Computer Game

    The earliest electronic game was created by Thomas T. Goldsmith Jr. and Estle Ray Mann. The game was finished on January 25, 1947 and brought out in stores on December 14, 1948. The game was a missile simulator inspired by World War II. The game was very basic and the controls were simple. This would hve been the top of the range technology.
  • The First Eletronic Computer

    The Colossus was the first electric programmable computer and was developed by Tommy Flowers and first demonstrated in December 1943. The Colossus was created to help the British code breakers read encrypted German messages.
  • When The Internet Was First Created

    The history of the Internet began with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s.The public was first introduced to the concepts that would lead to the Internet was in 1969 when a message was sent over the ARPANet. The ARPANET in particular led to the development of protocols for internetworking, in which multiple separate networks could be joined together into a network of networks.
  • The First Games Console

    Even though the first computer game was in the 1950's the first game console was in 1972. It was called the Magnavox Odyssey, invented by Ralph H. Baer. They were very basic games consoles that only had pong and hockey.
  • When Was Microsoft Created

    It was created by Bill Gates in 1975.Microsoft was established to develop and sell BASIC interpreters for the Altair 8800. It then broke away and created there own types of computers and software. This has resulted in a multi million pound company that is one of the most valuable in the world.
  • When Was Apple Created

    This is a company that was created by Steve Jobs.. Its best-known hardware products are the Mac line of computers, the iPod music player, the iPhone smartphone, and the iPad tablet computer. Apple is the world's second-largest information technology company by revenue after Samsung Electronics, and the world's third-largest mobile phone maker after Samsung and Nokia.[
  • The First Sat Nav

    A sat nav is a device that uses GPS signals to know where you are on the road and to predict where to go and how long it takes.Steven Lobbezoo developed the first commercially available satellite navigation system for cars. It was produced in Berlin from start 1984 to January 1986. Publicly presented first at the Hannover fair in 1985 in Germany, the system was shown in operation on the evening news (item in the Hannover fair) from the first German television channel in that year.
  • The First Smart Phone

    If you imagine the first smartphone–like its predecessor the regular cellular phone–to be a monstrous and monochromatic block of plastic, you’d be correct. In 1992 IBM showcased the IBM Simon at the 1992 COMDEX (Computer Dealers’ Exhibition); in doing so they introduced the world to the first smartphone and it was just the kind of enormous brick one would expect from the first phone/computer mashup.
  • The first Travel Website.

    A travel website is a website on the world wide web, that is dedicated to travel. The site may be focused on travel reviews, the booking of travel, or a combination of both. Considering this the first Travel Website came along in the summer of 1996, the amount of information available to us has risen as the price of getting there has tended to fall, while we have seen the take off of a fleet of internet-friendly, low-cost airlines that have made flying about as cheap as catching the coach.
  • The First Social Networking Site

    The first recognizable social network site launched in 1997. SixDegrees.com allowed users to create profiles, list their Friends and, beginning in 1998, surf the Friends lists. Each of these features existed in some form before SixDegrees, of course. Profiles existed on most major dating sites and many community sites.
  • When Facebook Was Created

    Facebook is an online social networking service, whose name stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by some university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other. It was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.
  • When Was YouTube Created

    YouTube was created by three former PayPal employees in February 2005, on which users can upload, view and share videos.The company is based in San Bruno, California. This site has become golbal as millions post videos a day.
  • When Twitter Was Created

    Twitter is an Online Social Networking site which enables people to talk to each other. The website was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey. The website grew and had over half a million views in 2012.
  • The Biggest Social Networking Site

    At the momment the biggest social networking site in the world is FaceBook with about 1.11 billion users across the world. This is closly followed by Twitter and then a chinese site which is closely translated as QZone.
  • Virtual Gaming

    Gaming has advanced throug the years. Recently there has been steps made towards gaming where you can be active like the Kinect. In the future could this be more precice and could first person shooters become almost real? This could be possible in the years to come.
