Osamu Tezuka created the milestone manga, Tetsuwan Atom or Astro Boy, as it was known in the US. As a result, years later he became a pioneer in anime, and was the man responsible for the success of anime and manga worldwide. -

The production company, Toei Animation, was founded by Hiroshi Okawa and released its first feature, The Tale of the White Serpent. -

This is the year Dragon Ball series cameout and that is undoubtalbly the biggest anime's ever made bacause Dragon Ball then became the by far the biggest anime the world has ever seen Dragon Ball Z when anyone thinks of anime they think of Dragon Ball Z this is where anime became something of its own. From here anime took off and this is where anime started for a lot of people. From there it's history.
