    Led by Saddam Houssein, the Iraqi invasion force vastly outnumbered Kuwait's defence and led to complete occupation of the country. The unjust invasion caused international condemnation leading to immediant economic sanctions by the UN. The cause of the invasion was that Iraq owed Kuwait 14 billion dollars they had been funded during its 8 year war with Iran. Kuwait were unwilling to pardon the vast amount.
