    The first global issue started because of the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand the heir to Austria, and his wife on June 18, 1914. This sparked the world to go crazy and led to a world war, dividing countries overpower and control. Then countries started forming alliances with other countries like Germany. Japan. Austria-Hungary and Turkey but Europe created its own group with Britain, France, Russia, and Italy. Germany eventually lost leaving them in dept.

    Events Leading To War

    There were many events leading to war on was the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand the heir to Austria. Another event was the countries taking sides against one another the main countries being Germany vs Britain and Russia. One of the events that got the U.S involved was the destruction of trade boats with Britain by Germany causing the U.S to join with Britain and Russia.

    The United States tried to stay out of the war as much as they could and only gave and traded supplies with Europe. Germany said that they would leave the trading alone until they destroyed several ships causing the U.S to go to war and siding with Britain.

    During the 1920s a lot of stuff happened especially economically. The war was nearly over and it was the golden twenties, but there was a problem at the bank. Stocks crashed which led to a great depression. People had no money in the bank, small businesses could not pay their workers and everything became expensive. Only bigger companies could pay their workers.

    30 countries in the alliance came to a peace conference in Paris, the only country that wasn't represented was Russia which was dealing with a civil war. President Wilson was not represented well in the conference. Many countries favored vengeance rather than peace. France, Italy, Japan, and Great Britain wanted territories of the Central Powers.

    Fourteen Points
    The Fourteen Points were the way the U.S tried to generate peace and watch Germany. The Fourteen Points were presented by President Wilson who presented them during a speech to congress.
    The Fourteen Points would make it easier for Germany and would be used for peace. The idea was turned down and a different policy was put into place.

    President Wilson was elected and had a very Christian and God view of how to deal with the U.S issues. Progressivism was mainly supported by democrats and was rejected because the citizens wanted to be left alone. The country had a ton of issues that involved immigration, war debts, and peace. Although the country had these problems the U.S was able to pull them out with its acts.

    Germany had lost but needed to be talked to about reparations. Germany was forced to pay for all damages and give other reparations. Germany became in dept and was under watch by the other countries.

    Progressivism was being pushed up until the war ended in which case people just wanted normalcy. The Great Depression brought the economy down after the war ended but Roosevelt was able to bring the country out of it. Many blamed Hoover for the depression but it wasn't completely his fault but he still contributed to it.

    The End of The Great Depression
    Franklin Delano Roosevelt was very good at his job. His political career gave him very unique and good experience which helped him by giving him a confidence boost and made him work more efficiently as President of the United States. He brought the U.S out of the depression with the First Hundred Days program. This program was passed as soon as possible. All of his legislative actions were better for the economy.
