The giver jonas traits

  • 1 He was careful with language

Jonas has to be careful with his use of language because the community has certain expectations and requirements for the language is used. These requirements are all a part of the concept of "sameness."
  • 2 He accepts the way things are

This is because he vas the power to se beyond things. He is very thoughtful and kind he accepts things and that makes him be almost as the receiver of memory.
  • 3 He is a boy able to wonder and question

This is important when he is faced with training as the Receiver of Memory, and learns that his community is not the perfect place he thought it was.
He loves to wonder because he is very innocent.
  • 4 Jonas is careful and never lies.

Jonas is careful about most things. Like other children, he has been taught to be careful with language so as never to lie or unintentionally offend someone in other word he is very careful with language
  • 5 A new child is bring to his home.

When a new child is bridged home he takes good care of him. Jonas rescued him, wants to escape with him and is like his mentor.
  • 1 He takes advantage.

When Jonas is chosen as Receiver of Memory, he gets a list of instructions. One of the instructions is: “You may lie.” This shocks Jonas, because “precision of language” is so important in the community.
  • 2 Lies to his mother.

The first time Jonas lies, he tells his parents that he understand that the word “love” is imprecise and should not be used in chapter 16.
  • 3 Stop taking pills

Jonas stops taking his pills because he wants to feel emotions beyond what everyone is "allowed" to feel (that would be nothing). He also desires the feeling of wanting something, rather than be complacent.
  • 4 When Gabe didn't sleep

When Gabriel wasn't sleeping Jonas transmitted to him the most smoothing memory. In this moment, Jonas goes from being a Receiver to being a Giver himself, and Gabriel becomes a Receiver.
  • 5 Escape plan

Toward the end of "The Giver" Jonas and the Giver decide that Jonas will escape from the community so that the memories he has received will all go to the community and they will have to deal with feelings like pain, hunger, sorrow and war.
