In this painting, people are depicted working a steel mill. The dates put this painting right in the middle of WW1 and WWII. The economy was starting to get back together right after the great depression.

The Dust Bowl, which consisted of major droughts, began to take shape in the US.

This sculpture was introduced in 1991, but the events portrayed early 30's events. After WW1, the nation was in a deep recession. Millions people lost their homes as unemployment numbers soared. People went hungry as thousands of bread lines like this one formed.
