    Eddie is the maintannace man at Ruby Peir. He notices that the wires are loose on one of the rides, but he realizes no one can hear him. The other employees are already about to send the people plummiting down the ride, and Eddie notices there is a little girl standing under it. So he jumps under the falling ride.

    Eddie wakes up in a blinding bright light. He notices he is at the Pier but there is no one there. He sees a "blue man" who he recognized from his childhood. The man tells him Eddie caused his death when he was boy, and he taught him a lesson to not judge. That was the first person he met. Then he opened his eyes and was in the forest of battegrounds, and saw his old army captain up in a tree

    The captain tells Eddie about how being in the battlegrounds was his heaven. He died fighting for Eddie, and it brought him joy. Eddie remembered about his war days, and realized the captain saved his life, and made a significant life change. he taught Eddie to stop moping around because everything happens for a reaso. That was the second person.

    Eddie is suddenly in a diner in the middle of the mountains. He meets and old lady named Ruby, and he tells her evrything about his father. He hated him because he beat Eddie and had ignored him since he was 30. But Ruby told him how his father got to be like that, because of a tragic event, and Eddie forgave his father. 3rd lesson.

    Eddie meets his wife throghout different weddings in heaven. He loves the time he got to spend with her because he hadn;t seen her for 30 years since she dies. They danced, laughed, and Eddie told her everything. Then she was gone. She taught him to enoy the old times and the current situations. 4th lesson.

    The last person Eddie meets in heaven is the little girl he thought he saw in the war, but got burned. She made him clean her skin, and wash away the burnt memories and pain. She told him that he saved the little girl at the pier, and now he could choose his heaven. He opened his eyes to the pier, and saw his wife sitting on top of the ferris wheel.
