  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    It was imposed to have all American colonist pay taxes on all the paper they bought. This was important because the taxes helped pay for the french and Indian war.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Bostonian changed their taxes and established a non-importation agreement that spread within the colonists causing the British trade to dry up. It caused the Colonists to gain anger towards England.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    It was a street fight caused by the colonist throwing snowballs, stones, or sticks at the British soldiers leading up to the British soldiers killing 3 on the spot and 8 injured 2 of those died later. This event helped unite colonies against Britain causing desire for independence.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    Colonists shipped back the boats full of tea and some where left to rot or thrown into the sea because they thought the British where trying maneuvering for the taxes that have been already place. This act helped increase the anger towards the British.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    The first continental congress was a gathering of people representing their colonies to come to a understanding on what to do towards to problems with Britain. It was very important because it showed the colonies coming together as one to fight for their independence.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    Britain's Gage had a secret plan which was to send British soldiers to Lexington and figure our where Americans kept their gun powder but the allies figured out was was happening and warned them that the British where going to attack by sea. This was very important because it was the beginning of the Revolutionary War making it the first time colonial army fought with the British army.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The British defeated the Americans in the Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts. Though they lost the Colonial army still managed to make a lot of casualties in the British Army helping them get a boost on the war.

    The Virginia Declaration of Rights
    The Virginia Declaration of Rights was one of three most important bill of rights written they explain in detail what it was to be American with rights and being equal. This stated that from there on they where going to be Americans that have rights and wont follow unjust laws.
  • The Deceleration of Independence

    The Deceleration of Independence
    The purpose of the Deceleration of Independence was to explain to the world why the British where seeking their own country this also led to our Independence from King Gorge III. It was important because it was given to England to have control over the thirteen colonies.

    The U.S constitution established Americas national government and fundamental laws and guaranteed the basic rights for the citizens. Its important because it protects an individual freedom.
