    Absolute Monarchy
    during the middle ages the majority of european countries were a Monarchy. wich meant that Kings and Queens ruled over certain areas of land, or countries. KIng And Queens thought they were given their power directly from god, and for someone to question their authority was to question God. This was known as the Divine Right of Kings. In 1215 the king was forced to give up his divine right to make parliment.

    The first democracy. Between 700 & 350 BC in the city of athens citizens were suposed to take roles in the affairs of their city. However the word citizen was only used to describe the males born in athens women and slaves were not considerd citezens.

The quillotine was an execution used to eliminate enemys. their leader was a military dictator known as Napoleon who then tried to conqure europe.

    The world wars 1&2 both were based on nationalism WW2 more so than its predecessor. All sides were competing for who was the better country. the result was a bloodbath that no one really did win.

    In 509 BC after the king was sent away Rome was declared a republic. Rich families took over the people and were called patricians they were only few in number but they had control over the common people or plebs. the plebs later rebelled and won more rights. the people here were not as active as those in greece but the helped create the democratic institution known as the senate, however only patricians could be senators and only the men could be citizens.
