    Voltaire- Freedom of speech, Freedom of religion, Fair trials

    The british taxed america which america didn't like. The taxes were the sugar act, stamp act, quartering act, townshend act, tea act. So to stop this they had a war which was over their freedom from Britian. It connects to the enlightenment because of the war which led america fighting for their freedom from britian.

The founding fathers created the Constitution which connects to the enlightenment because there are three branches of government.
