Tendai, Rita, and Kuda get kidnapped
The children leave the mansion, that they are supposed to stay in, and they go to a market. In the market they spot a blue monkey that attracts their attention. They ask the owner about it, and the kids get kidnapped by the owner and are taken to Dead Man's Vlei, which is ruled by the she elephant. -
the fail to escape
When the children get to Dead Man's Vlei they try to escape because of how awful it is, but when the she elephant see's them trying to escape he orders the Vlei people to catch them. -
The kids escape from the she elephant
When the kids hear that the she elephant is thinking of selling them to the Masks they want to escape. Trashman gets Kuda out of Dead Man's Vlei, and Rita and Tendai follow. Trashman takes all of them to Resthaven. -
The ear, the eye, and the arm
When Mr. and Mrs. Matsika find that the the children have escaped they become very worried, so they hire Ear, Eye, and Arm. Ear has an incredible sense of hearing, Eye has a fantastic vision, and Arm can sometimes look into other people's minds and feel their emotions, so they are the perfect people for this job. -
clues that lead the detectives to Dead Man's Vlei
When the detectives are still searching for where the kids are, the detectives go to the blue monkey at the market for clues and they get some. The monkey also bites Arm. -
The children get kicked out of Resthaven
Since Resthaven is a place that is supposed resemble what Africa was like many years ago, the peope in town are very different from the kids. A girl in Resthaven does a chicken dropping test on the three and it showed that they were witches. -
A new place to stay
When the kids get kicked out of Resthaven they dont know where to go, so they think of the only person they know outside of their house which is Mellower's mother. The children take a subway to her house and stay at her house for a few weeks. -
The she elephant goes on a mission
The she elephant leaves Dead Man's Vlei to try to catch the children, so he can sell them to the Masks. The She elephant finds the children at Mellower's mother's house and takes them to a secret spot where he will sell the kids to the Masks. -
Clues in the subway station
When the detectives are close to Resthaven they spot another clue: The chicken droppings in the subway station, and they follow that clue and it leeds them to Mellower's mother's house. -
Arm gets possessed
Arm gets possessed by the spirit of Monomatapa. This spirit tells Arm where the kids are and -
the fail to save the kids
The detectives and Mrs. Matsika go try to save the kids at Mile High MacIlwaine. They are unable to because Ear gets injured and Arm is taken away by the Masks. -
The children are saved
The Masks said that the oldest child must be sacrificed. Right before the masks are about to sacrifice Tendai, the she elephant cracks the main mask in half and the kids are saved.
