The Beginnings of the 19th Century
In the early 1900s, people lived off of land and agricultural. Vegetables, green herbs, livestock, and meat was apart of people diets. Many families hunted animals to provide their own food. -
Food during the Great Depression
During the 1930s, the Great Depression occurred and food became scarce. Food became much cheaper. Vegetables, beans, and cheaper cuts (heart, brains, and feet) were substituted because many people couldn't afford the higher quality parts of meat. -
The Fast Food Industry
In the 1950s Fast Food expanded across America. Hamburgers and french fries were available at an affordable price. Frozen food and TV dinners became very popular.
