    Exposition
    The story, "The Chosen" begins on a baseball field in Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York roughly around 1944 with the protaganist Reuven Malter preparing for his big versus a Hassid Baseball team. Reuven is a jewish young teen with an open mind. At the big game against the Hassid team, Reuven meeets a Jewish boy named Danny Saunders. Danny is also one of the protaganist in the story. reuven and danny meet each other as the game begins. The baseball game was very intense battle.
  • Conflict

    Conflict
    The Main conflict in the story is that Danny Saunders does not want to countine his jewish family tradition of being tzaddik, a the head Rabbi. Danny wants to be psychologist rahter than a tzaddik. Danny wants to tell he father but is unable to, due to the fact that his father does not speak to Danny except only when they study the Talmud. Danny is afraid to tell his father, because he does not know how he would react to it. Danny's conflict is his stuggle between tradition and desires.
  • Rising Action

    Rising Action
    During the aseball game, Reuven has to picth against Danny Saunders and is struck in the eye by the ball. He is taken to the hospital after the game. As the days goes by Danny visits Reuven and they become close friends. Danny then opens up to Reuven and tells him his problems about his relationship with his Father, Reb Saunders. Danny wants to s a psychologist rather a Rabbi like his father. Reuven understnads most of the issue and decides to help Danny to best of his abilities.
  • Climax

    Climax
    Reb Saunders ends Reuven and Danny's friendship for about 2 years and then he premits danny to be Reuven friend again. He also ask Reuven to come study Talmud. David Malter, Reuven's father, tells Reuven to go study with Reb Saunders and Danny. While Revuen is there Reb Saunders uses Reuven to commiunicated with Danny, because Reb was raising Danny in Silence.He tells him that he has known that Danny did not want to be a Rabbi and he explained why he raise Danny in silence.
  • Falling Action

    Falling Action
    After Reb Saunders explains to Danny through Reuven, he gives Danny his approval to being a Psychologist rather than to be a Rabbi. Danny and Reuven are shocked by Reb Sauders opinion. Reb Saunder embraces his son and they cry of joy that finally talk and were able to understand each other A few months later Danny and Reuven graduate from Hirsch College.
  • Resolution

    Resolution
    When Danny and Reuven graduate, Danny decides he will continue his psychologist dream at Columbia. Danny shaves off his bread and cuts his side curl. Reuven speaks with him at the end with his afthe, David Malter. they thank eachother help one another and tell each other that they will study together. Then Danny walks aways to go to College.
