  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The acts was passed so that the parliament could gain the money that they lost during the war. The act said that all honey, molasses, and sugar would be taxed. It also banned alcohol like rum, in America.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act was passed so that officers and soldiers could get shelter and food and the Parliament didnt have to pay to support them. The act said that if a soldier or officer was brought to your home, you must welcome them, and provide for them.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp act was passed so that Parliament could get money in a different way than The Sugar act. The act said that colonist would be charged tax for stamps that are put on letters, ect.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    The Townshend act was passed to try and stop smuggling,and stretch the power of Britain.The act said that there was taxes on glass, read lead, white lead, painters colors, tea, and paper.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The Tea act was passed to try and stop smuggling of tea in the Colonies, unless it was only from their provider, The East India Company.
  • Boston Port act

    Boston Port act
    The Boston Port act limited peoples abilities to receive and send out goods and resources from the Boston Ports. It also reinforced the Quartering act.
  • Massachusetts Government Act

    Massachusetts Government Act
    The MA Government Act was passed because the colonies were out of control after the Tea act, and the Parliament decided they needed more control over the Colonies. The acts say that no meeting or lawful event would be held if the king or his representatives weren't there.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    The Quebec Act was passed to get more money from the colonist, and to gain more land/control. The Quebec Act said that former French colonist who lived in Quebec and had to pay taxes to gain religious rights.
