  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The Sugaring act was passed to address smuggling sugar into the colonies. The Sugar Act stated that trades would be better secured and that any form of sugar would now be taxed by Britan.
  • Quatering Act

    Quatering Act
    The Quartering act was passed because it was too hard to persuade the colonists into paying for the Army. It stated that after it was passed Great Britain would tax them for the provisions and barracks for the army.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The price of stamps should be raised on legal papers, commercial papers, liquor licenses, land instruments, indentures, cards, dice, pamphlets, newspapers, advertisements, almanacs, degrees, appointments, etc..
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    To address colonial frustration, Parliament passed The Townshend Act and it stated that any good that was imported or exported had to be taxed by the Royal Family.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The Tea Act was passed to prevent smuggling and to help the East India Company Market easier.The colonist had to buy the tea and then they had to pay taxes to receive the tea it made. It made many colonist very mad. It was kind of like our shipping and handling fees today.

    The Boston Port Act
    The Boston Port act was passed to punish Massachusetts for throwing the Boston Tea Party. It stated that the colonists would be taxed for loading cargo and for the damages they had done while throwing the tea party
  • The MA Government Act an the Administration of justice Act

    The MA Government Act an the Administration of justice Act
    This act was passed to punish Massachusetts for the Boston Tea party. It stated that if anyone sues for murder or any capital offence they would be tried in court. This Basically means that the King was now taking over the colonists government.
  • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
    The Quebec act was passed to expand the territory of Quebec that was claimed by the 13 colonies and to tax the french colonists. It stated that the territory of Quebec now belonged to the King and that the french colonists now had to pay taxes.
