The first grade class prepares for a sportsday at the playground. They wear colored headbands and set up flags and bamboo poles.

At nine o'clock, the principal addressed the school and talked about the importane of sportsmanship before they begin their sportsday. Then the students got in line at the start line!

Parents and teachers encourage the students while they run the race around the playground. The winners receive prizes from the principal -- they're oranges, rice cakes and pencils.

After more games, eating, and playing the crowd gets quiet, and realizes they're being watched by two American soldiers. At first the crowd is scared and unsure of the soldiers.

One soldier went over to where the principle's bike was and he asked if he could borrow it. The soldier began doing tricks around the school yard.

The American solider gets the final prize and wins the overall sports day. After recieving his prize the two soliders go on their way.
