    The French and indian war started over a land dispute in the american colonies that lasted 7 years that Great Britain won, the war was between Great Britain and France. This is important because if Great Britain didn't go to war they wouldn't have placed all of the taxes that the colonists got mad at on the colonies in the first place.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The stamp act placed a tax on all paper goods in the colonies. I think this is important because they didn't get a place in the parliament that was levying taxes on the colonies
  • The Townshend Acts

    The Townshend Acts were taxes on glass, paper, lead tea, and paint that parliament put on the colony's. the colonists did not like the taxes that were being placed because they didn't have a place in parliament. This is important because it set off sparks that led up to the revolution that made the colonists angry.

    A colonial riot in Boston where British soldiers shot at the rioters which led to an outrage against Britain. This was important because it was a great use of propaganda which led to more colonials wanting to seperate from the British.

    The Boston Tea Party is a protest against the British taxes where The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans, boarded a British ship, and dumped lots of tea into the Boston Harbor. This is important because it showed that the colonists were willing to sacrifice the goods instead of paying the taxes on them

    The intolerable acts were acts placed on the colonists for the punishment of the boston tea party these acts closed off the boston harbor and let any british soldier stay in any colonists house. This is important because this was one of the last key event leading up to the start of the revolution that caused a lot of harm towards the british

    The first Continental congress was a meeting where delegates from all 13 colonies except Georgia met in Philadelphia to talk about rising tension with the british and how they were going to try and find peace with them. This is important because this is the first time the colonies meet up and discuss what to do against rising problems with the british.

    The British were besieged by the American Militia that were holding up at Boston during the siege Henry Knox used the weapons from Fort Ticonderoga to surround the city with cannons and eventually drive the British out. This is important because it showed that the Americans weren't as weak as they seemed and they drove out the british which showed they had a great chance of winning.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was a battle that took place in Charlestown on a key hill during the American siege on British occupied Boston which the was one of the bloodiest battles of the war and Great Britain won. This is important because it showed that the Militia still needed a lot work to actually be on the same level as the british and it also ,made both sides worry about the casualties.

    Signing of the Declaration of Independence
    The signing of the Declaration of Independence was the when all the founding fathers signed a paper declaring that America was going to be an independent nation from Great Britain and they cant be controlled anymore. This is important because this was the day that america was born as a nation separate from Britain and they finally had a something to be fighting for other than unity with them.
  • Washington crossing the Delaware River

    Washington crossing the Delaware River
    On Christmas day Washington crossed the icy Delaware River into new Jersey so he can ambush the British that weren't expecting an attack because of the winter. This is important because this led to one of the first major victories for the continental army which raised the morale of the american people.
  • The siege of Fort Ticonderoga

    This was the first American win in the Revolution where Ethan Allen, The Green Mountain Boys, and Benedict Arnold laid siege on the fort that had many weapons to secure them for the continental army. They won over the fort secured the weapons, then Henry Knox took 6 tons of artillery from the fort to Boston to lay a siege. This is important because it helped the army by giving it lots of power and strength so it can combat against the british.

    A battle where the Americans beat the superior british raising American morale and helping to secure french support. This is important because the colonists finally got a good victory and they finally got someone to support their cause
  • Winter of Valley Forge

    It was a harsh winter at valley forge with extreme famine, lots of disease, and cruel conditions .Lots of men died but the ones that survived were finally professionally trained by a french soldier. This is important because they finally got the training they needed to be on the same level as the british and now they were ready to fight back.

    France joins the war to aid the colonies by sending them goods like weapons, ammo, naval support, troops, etc. and they also trained the militia so they know proper combat so they can have a chance against britain. This is important because France was a reason the colonies ended up gaining the strength and ally support they needed to beat the british.

    Washington's forces helped by the French army and navy siege General Cornwalis who was dug in Yorktown, Virginia, the American army outnumbered the british in the three week long siege when the British finally surrendered and they immediately started undergoing a treaty. This is important because this was the battle that basically marked the end of the war and led the british to lead to peace

    The signing of the Treaty of Paris was a signing that was held in Paris where American and British representatives both signed to finally end the war between the two nations. This is important because this finally marked the end of the revolutionary was and made the United States become a real Country seperate from Britain.
