Boston Tea Party

With tensions escalating due to increases in taxes American colonists dress up as Native Americans and dumped tea that belonged to Great Britain into the Boston harbor as protest. This angered the British empire and showed an upcoming war and revolution was possible.

Declaration of Independence

Jul 4, 1776

On July 4th 1776 The United States officially declared themselves as an independent nation from Great Britain. This was made officaly by the signing and sending of the declaration to King George of Great Britain.

Treaty of Paris

Sep 3, 1783

The Treaty of Paris signalled the end of the American Revolutionary war and was the moment the United States became their own country. This all started to come about after 1781 when Britaiin forces surrendered to the United States in the Battle of Yorktown
