Treaty of Paris (French and Indian War)
the french and indian was a 7 year over who gets land west of the colonies the British were fighting against the French and Indians. in the end the Treaty of Paris was sighed and the colonists were not allowed west of the colons. because of this the colonists were mad that the fought a 7 year war and not get to settle west. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Royal Proclamation of 1763 was issued October 7, 1763, by King George III. the proclamation fordade americans to settle west of the appilation mountions. this caused americans to get mad at britian for fighting a pointless war. -
Sugar act
this law placed a tax on sugar, molasses, and other products shipped to the colonies. Because of this colonists got mad about not having any representatives to represent them. also because of this the first continental congress happened to discuss the tax. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was the first tax that directly effected the colonists. since it directly effected the colonist more people were angry about it and more riots happened. the colonist also boycotted british goods to force parliment to repeal the act which didnt work. -
Quartering Act
the quartering act forced colonists to house the British soldiers and give them food and water. the americans didn't like the soldiers living in their house's so they forced parlement to repeal the act by boycotting. this caused parlement to think of new ways to punish the colonists. -
Boston Massacre
the Boston Massacre happened when a group of americans started to threw stuff at the British soldiers. the soldiers heard somepne yell fire so they fired killing 5 people. After the massacre the men are chared for murder but John Adams proved they were inosent. -
tea act
the tea act taxed the the colonies. even though the tax was really small the colonists were still made since they had norepresenitives. because of this colonists dressed up as indians and threw tea in the ocean. -
Boston Tea Party
the Boston Tea Party was when American Patriots Dressed as Indians and seized 342 chests of tea. They threw all of it in the river. The Patriots did it because they were mad at the tax on tea. -
Intolerable Acts
the intolerable act was the name given to a series of laws passed by parliment in the year of 1774. the intolerable acts caused more americans to fight against british. also it caused the first continental congress to meet. -
1st Continental Congress
The first continental congress was held at Carpenter's hill in Philadelphia. The congress was held to discuss what to do about the tax's set on them by Parliment. They decided that they will boycott British goods. -

the battle of lexington and concord was the first British military attack against America. because of this the american revolution started. It also caused the second continental congress to meet and declared independance. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
the battle of bunker hill happened around bunker hill and breeds hill. as a result of this battle 266 British soldiers died and 800 wounded. The americans didn't have as great of a lose. because of this Americans gain more confidence since they could stand up to the best army in the world. -

common sense was published in January 10, 1776 by Thomas Paine. The pamphlet questioned the authority of the British monarchy. because of this it inspired colonists to fight for their independence -

The second continental congress met in the state house in Philadelphia. They discussed whether they should break off form Britain. They discided that they will completly break off from Britain and they discided to organize a continental militia. -

on july forth colonists declared indpendence from britian. because of this britian sent more troops over to america to fight the patriots . also Britain added more taxes on goods. -
Battle of Long Island (Battle of Brooklyn)
on august 22, howe's large army landed on long island hoping to capture the city of new york. the british took over new york and chased them out. after the battle the british only lost 400 men will the americans lost 1000 men. -

Genral Gates was the leader of the continental army during the battle of saratoga. since the Americans won the war Gates took all the credit which caused Benedict Arnold to betray his army. Winter at Valley Forge
the american troops had a fort out in the woods that they planned to stay the winter at. when they got there they noticed all the food and supplies they stored was stolen by the british. because of the british stealing there supplies many soldiers died or went home. -
The Battle of Yorktown
Washington saw that Cornwallis's decision as a golden opportunity to attack his army. Washinton and his men moved south and the French flet cut them off at sea. together the Americans and the French bombarded Yorktown forcing the British to surender. -
Treaty of Paris (Revolutionary War)
the treaty of paris was signed on september 3, 1783. after signing the treaty, britain and america declared peace but britain still had to fight spain and france in other colonies aroumd the world. the colonists still had tp pay their debt but they never will.
