    The Emancipation Proclamation, given by president Abraham Lincoln as an attempt to help free the slaves and help the north win the war exemplifies the American dream. He is saying that every person should have an equal chance to succeed which is what the American dream is all about.

    When the statue of liberty was given to the untied states it was looked at as a symbol of our liberty and success as a country. The statue is a symbol of the American dream and what our country fought for to gain its independence and liberty.

It agrees with the idea of working hard and protecting the united states especially because it was looked at the war that will end all war. However is disagrees with the principal of neutrality which is what George Washington followed when he was president.

    The 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote goes right along with the American dream. Since the American dream is all about giving everyone an equal chance to succeed and have a voice. Giving women rights along with rights for African Americans were a major step forward for all citizens of America.

    The roaring 20's were a time for new ideas and a different breed of people. The American dream became less of hard work and more of enjoying life and living to the fullest. With that also came the concept of buying now and paying later. America is starting to get away from the beliefs that our country was founded on.

    The great depression shows how much the American dream has changed as the country has aged. Americans have moved away from hard work and towards the strategy of getting rich quick and more importantly buying now and paying later. The American dream has changed and the people are the ones who must suffer through it.

    The new deal shows that Americans aren't relying on their selves as much anymore and more on having their problems fixed by the government stepping in. We are moving away from the Laissez Faire policy and the government is taking a larger role than it necessarily should be.

    Apollo 11 is a small peak into what the United States was founded on. We discovered that their was nothing left to expand on earth so we made a journey to the moon that will forever be remembered. The United States was the first country to have one of its people step foot on the moon. This desire to do new things is what our country was founded on.
