This destabilized the middle-east as there was a Palestinian population still living there and tensions rose between the new state and the established Arabic nations around it.

Due to the costly war, a string of losses and pressure to end the war back in the States, the United forces were forced to leave.

This would bring a cold war of sorts to the middle east between Iran and Saudi Arabia that would fuel future conflicts in the peninsular and destabilize the region.
