  • Wilsons presidency term

    President Woodrow Wilsons term for president was from March 4rd, 1913 to March 4th, 1921.
  • WW1 timeframe

    WW1 started on July 28th, 1914 and ended on November 11th, 1918. Countries involved were Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire who fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States.
  • Lusitania

    Lusitania
    The Lusitania was a British ship and was attacked by a German u-boat by firing a torpedo at the ship. The ship began to sink immediatly causing 1,198 people killed and 761 survivers.
  • The Great Migration timeframe

    The Great Migration was from 1916 to around 1970. This migration was African Americans moving to the north from the south for a better life.
  • First women elected congress

    First women elected congress
    Jeannette Pickering Rankin was the first women to be elected in Congress being apart of the House of Representatives.
  • Lenin lead a Russian Evolution

    Lenin lead a Russian Evolution
    The Russian Revolution began when a number of workers decided to strike and began to riot because the people were starting to lose faith in the leadership. They replaced the traditional monarchy with a communist state.
  • Selective Service Act

    The Selective Service Act required all men in the U.S between the ages of 21 and 30 to register for military.
  • Espionage Act

    The Espionage Act made it a federal crime for anyone to interfere with or attempt to undermine the U.S. armed forces during a war or to in any way assist the war efforts of the nation’s enemies.
  • Influenza epidemic

    The Spanish flu during WW1 infected about 500 million people and killed about 50 million people. The most affected people were of the ages 20-40.
  • Wilson's 14 points

    Wilson's 14 points
    The fourteen points was a statement to establish peace to help end WW1. The proposal consisted of having open agreements, arms reductions, freedom of the seas, free trade, and self-determination for oppressed minorities for the future.
  • Sedition Act

    This act made it illegal to publicly protest the governments war policies.
  • U.S Senate rejects Treaty of Versailles

    U.S Senate rejects Treaty of Versailles
    Americans believed that the United States' best hope for peace was to stay out of European affairs, so they rejected Treaty of Versailles.
  • Schneck vs US

    Charles T. Schenck produced a pamphlet saying that the military draft was illegal and was convicted under the Espionage Act to cause misconduct in the military. The court later found him not guilty in violating the Espionage act.
  • Flappers

    Women who wore short skirts, smoked, wore makeup, and danced were known as "flappers". They were known for their freedom and embraced a crazy lifestyle.
  • 19th Amendment

    The 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote.
  • Teapot Dome Scandal

    From 1921-1923, government officials funneled government money into the oil industry (corruption)
  • The Great Gatsby

    The book "The Great Gatsby" was released in 1925 telling the story of the American "dream".
  • Lindbergh flies alone

    Charles Lindbergh was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Paris, and the flight took 33.5 hours.
  • Micky Mouse born

    Disney asked Ub Iwerks to start drawing up new character ideas and inspired Iwerks Iwerks to create a new mouse character for Disney. "Mortimer Mouse" had been Disney's original name for the character before his wife, Lillian, convinced him to change it, and ultimately Mickey Mouse came to be.
  • The Dust Bowl

    The Dust Bowl was an area in the midwest where the soil became too dry that it turned into dust causing a major drought lasting almost a decade. The high winds killed crops and people, and so many people/farmers migrated to find work because the land was not sustainable. The Dust Bowl lasted from 1930-1936.
