    The first cell phone with an integrated camera is manufactured by Sharp Electronics in Japan. The infrastructure for the J-phone was developed by Phillipe Kahn's company, LightSurf. While other camera phones had been made, this was the first true camera phone that could send pictures directly from the phone. Others needed a computer.

    Steve Jobs and his team at Apple created the first iPhone. This touchscreen device was a cell phone, music player, camera, and web browser all in one. It also had several other features such as GPS navigation, weather reports, voice dictation, and the ability to download apps.
