    Henry Ford designed his first automobile, called the model T. He used assembly lines to produce the cars. This sped the proccess of building.

    The 18th Amendment goes into effect
    The 18th Amendment was the prohibition of alcohol. This made it illegal to drink. Women saw alcohol as a huge issue because men abused it and women weren’t allowed in bars. This also caused a lot of black market alcohol sales
  • Women won the right to vote

    Women won the right to vote
    The 19th amendment was passes. This gave women the right to vote. Women were never allowed to vote because men were considered surperior to women so this was a huge step.

    In January 1922 Amelia Earhart set the record for women with an altitude of 14000 feet. She was the first female pilot to do this. Her record was later broken by someone else but she set out to remake it.

    In May 1921 the immigrantion Quota is passed. This prevents immigrants from coming into the country and not just to prevent them from taking jobs. After the war we didn’t trust the immigrants and we didn’t want them in our country

    A substitute high school teacher broke the Tennessee law of teaching the theory of evaloution, Tennessee is located in the bible belt so they were supposed to be taught based on the bible. Scopes was found guilty

    Babe Ruth was a baseball player in the 1920s. In 1927 he set a record that would stand for 70 years. Babe Ruth was a player for the Yankees

    Great Mississippi Flood
    The most destructive river flood in U.S history occured in Mississippi. This flood killed approximatley 500 people. The water flooded more than 27,000 square miles

    Rohwedder invented the Rohwedder Bread Slicer. This made pre-sliced bread because cutting it yourself was very time consuming and unorganized. The bread hit the shelves in July 1928 and quickly became popular.
