    This event was the first battle in the Revolutionary War. This battle commenced due to british soldiers attempting to gather and destroy the colonists military supplies. The Revolutionary War was the colonists only way to gain freedom from Great Britain's grasp.

    Creation of the Declaration of independence
    This document was meant to to declare the 13 original colonies to be independent from Great Britain. It was adopted on July 4, 1776 which happens to be a year after the Revolutionary war started. Colonists declaring independence began a period of hardship and war. It was created by the founding fathers.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    This battle was the last battle in the Revolutionary War. It was between the Americans, who had help from the French, and the British. George Washington, who was an American military officer, surrounded the british and claimed victory. It later led to the Treaty of Paris and it declared the young United States an independent nation.

    There was a great amount of tension when the British were forming colonies in America. King George II of Great Britain was furious when the British colonists began to deny his power and authority. For example, they would refuse to pay any of the taxes that he put in place. After many arguments and squalls The American Revolutionary War took place. After the Americans won the war, they gained the right to be independent and free from the British.

The Constitution itself authorizes the the power and control of the national government. It also illustrates the rights, responsibilities and the liberties of the American people.

    The Louisiana Purchase was a land deal that consisted of land west of the Mississippi River, to the Rocky Mountains. The United States bought the land from the French.The amount of land that was bought completely doubled the size of the United State at the time.

    In 1863, the Emancipation Proclamation was in effect. This document was President Abraham Lincoln's effort to free African-American slaves. In doing so, the proclamation freed three million slaves. This is important because there was a long agrument on the owning of slaves.

    Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack by Japanese navy on December 7, 1941. Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was a United States naval base. This attack would later advance to the United States fighting in a second World War.This is important because the United States was attacked.

    Apollo 11 was the first spaceship to land on the moon with humans aboard. Those men were Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Neil Armstrong was the first person to take steps on the moon. It was important because no other country had sent a person to the moon at the time.

    This subject is truly depressing to Americans. Several terrorists hijacked four American planes. Sending two into the World Trade Center in New York, one into the Pentagon and the other into a field in Pennsylvania. This event has made America stronger and more protective of its citizens.
