  • Elkins Act

    Elkins Act
    This act was passed to stop the practice of rebates, refunds for large businesses that shipped large shipments; and it was named after Senator Stephen B. Elkins of West Virginia; and it is a federal law that amended the Interstate Commerce Act of 1887.

    In 1906 there was an Act that was past called “The Antiquities Act of June 1906” which set aside any area of land that the President sees as a historical or scientific interest. Devils Tower was the first declared United States National Monument.
