  • Reagan Becomes President

    Ronald Reagan became the 40th president of the United States win by a landslide with the vote of 489-49. During the next presidential elections, Reagan won again by a landslide with the vote of 525-13 in 1984.
  • Challenger Crash

    The Challenger space shuttle exploded during lift off, killing all on board including school teacher Christa McAuliffe. It was a very sad day for all of America. Because of the tragic event, President Reagan postponed the State of the Union and gave his famous speech "Reagan's Address to the Nation."
  • Tax Reform Act of 1986

    Its purpose was to simplify the tax code, broaden the tax base, and eliminate many tax shelters and preferences. It was referred to as "Reagan tax cuts."
  • "Tear Down This Wall"

    President Reagan gave his famous "Tear Down This Wall" speech that was addressed to Gorbachev to Tear down the Berlin Wall.
  • Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty

    It was an agreement between U.S. and the Soviet Union to limit nuclear weapons. It was the first arms-control treaty to abolish an entire category of weapons systems.
  • Bush Becomes President

    George W. Bush becomes the 41st President of the U.S..
  • Pan Am Flight 103 Bombing

    Just four days before Christmas, the Pan Am Flight 103 took off from London’s Heathrow Airport and was headed to New York City. Among the 259 passengers and crew were 189 American. The plane exploded over the sky above Lockerbie, Scotland, less than forty minutes into flight. It killed everyone on board and 11 Scots on the ground.
  • Clinton Becomes President

    Bill Clinton Became the 42nd President go the U.S. beating Bush with the vote of 370-168.
  • NAFTA

    On January 1, 1994, NAFTA goes into effect. NAFTA ,or The North American Free Trade Agreement, was a treaty that allows free trade between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    The Oklahoma City Bombing was an attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. There were 168 people killed including 19 children under the age of 6. It was the worst tragedy on US soil before 9/11.
  • 9/11

    On September 11th, 2001, four planes were hijacked by Islams associated with al Qaeda. The hijackers carried out a suicide attacks against the U.S.. The hijackers crashed 2 planes into the World Trade Center, destroying both buildings. Another plane crashed into the Pentagon and the last plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after the passengers over took the plane. Almost 3,000 lives were lost that day and it is know as the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history.
