    Playstation is Released
    In December of 1994, Playstation is released to the public in Japan and later released to the United States in 1995. The Playstation One was not the first CD based gaming console to be released but it was the first one to give major cartridge console developers such as Nintendo a run for their money and eventually helping lead into the disk based system we see today.     In 1998, South Korea's Saehan Information Systems created the worlds first portable digital audio player called the MPMAN. It sold 50,000 units its first year but was only a small success compared to Apples highly successful iPod that would come out just 3 years later.     Game Boy Color Released
    In late 1998, Nintendo released its successor the the Game Boy Pocket which was named the Game Boy color. It supported a maximum of 50 colors compared to the originals limit of 4.
