    The ENIAC was invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at the university of Pennsylvania. It was the first computer. It occupied about 1,800 square feet and used about 18,000 vacuum tubes, weighing almost 50 tons.

    UNIVAC 1101 (ERA 1101)
    A computer system designed by and buily by Engineering Research Associates (ERA). The ERA Atlas, was the first stored-program computer in the U.S. that was moved from its site of manufacture and successfully installed at a distant site. Remington Rand used the 1101"s architecture as the basis for a series of machines in the 1960s. It was also used in world war 2 for codebreaking.
