Directed by Rob Reiner this film is about 4 kids who heard about a man who was accidently killed and the 4 kids set out to go and see the dead body, on the way they encounter a junk man, throughout the film the kids get to know one another more. This is unique to the other films from its time.

However regardless of its unsuccessful box office this film still made a large contribution to the 'Coming of Age' films, as this was based on a teenager who wanted to be a rock journalist and showed the journey of this teenage boy to become a rock music journalist.

This highly successful film jump started the career of many of the staring actors and production team. This film made a huge contribution to the 'Coming of Age' films as it was one of few films that was purley based on a teenage girls progression through high school.

The story is about the rough life that the six year old boy and his sister have over the 12 years.The unique part about this film is that you can see the actors age as the film goes on. I tihnk this is different and that it makes this film different from other films as it clearly shows the progression of the life of a six year old boy.
