    There was a lot of debt because of the harsh spending habits of the king and past kings. There were bad harvests which made food prices sky rocket.

    The Bastille's symbol represented authority and abuse. It was a prison for the people who angered the king. The people killed all the people working for the king. The tore the building apart with their own hands.

    The revolution began because people had no food, the poorer people could not own land, and the 3rd estate was being over taxed. Their money was going towards parties for the 1st estate. The people didn’t like that there was a monarchy so they revolted. It was about equality and freedoms no matter the person or income. Food and land were the most important thing for the people.

    Instead of killing the King and Queen they are taken to Paris and technically held prisoners for three years. They give information to people to help them escape. They dress as average living people and try to flee which comes out to be unsuccessful. The people then see them as traitors to the Revolution. They were both guillotined, the new favorite toy of the Revolution.

    It started when more and more power went to radicals. The war started getting more out of control and many people were scared of what was happening. People begin to do violent crazy things in the name of "protecting France". This is the start of decisions that will favor the people.

    With Napoleon Bonaparte, now in power religious tolerance, peasants being allowed to own land, and jobs based off talent were the biggest uprising to the people. He also made food prices controlled so people weren't starving. This all started occurring after he was elected as emperor. This made him popular with the people.
  • The Big Defeat

    The Big Defeat
    Napoleon invaded Russia with 600,000 troops. Russia hits his troops with the scorched earth policy. Winter is very rough for Napoleon's troops, only 20,000 surviving. This causes him to retreat. He returns home with the remaining men and has a shattered reputation. Many people deeply despise him.
