A man is murdered by the Nazis in front of every camp prisoner because he had contacts with the rebels. This event made both Levi and Alberto broken since the Nazis has succeeded to "destroy men". -
The Attack Begins
The Russians arrive and start attacking the Nazis. This gives a sense of hope to Levi, but he also thinks that he won't make it because he has a scarlet fever. -
Liberation of Primo Levi
Primo Levi finally gets freed by the Red Army. This drastically gives a positive impact to Levi, now knowing there is always hope in this world. The theme is when there is no hope for today, there could always be hope for tomorrow.
