    Suleyman I is Born

    Suleyman I was born in November of 1494 in Trabzon along the coast of the Black Sea. He was born to Valide Sultan Aishe Hafsa Sultan and father, Selim I.

    Suleyman continued to campain throughout Europe. King Louis II of Hungary died during the battle of the Mohacs, and the Ottoman Empire collapsed.

    Suleyman attempted a second campaign. This did not work for either side because they both did not gain any territory. Suleyman decided to campain for a third time, and then signed a settlement.

    The Death of Suleyman I

    Suleyman I past away in 1556. He was 71 years old. He died in Szigetvar, Hungary. He was buried in the Suleymaniye Mosque in Constantinople, or modern day Istanbul. He was succeeded by Selim II.
