    The election of 1860 is when abe was elected president. the south didnt vote for them so they was mad as heck

    This happened when Abe Lincoln won the election. They said they'd leave and start their own country, which is what happened
  • Attack on Fort Sumter

    It was the first battle with guns. It was kinda deadly. It also sparked the civil war
  • Battle of Bull Run/Manassas

    This was the first major battle in the Civil war of america. It started when american troops came to the south and to strike them. It started the civil war
  • Battle of Antietam

    This was the First war when south invaded north. This ended in a defeat for the north. This was one of the main reasons that the first general was fired
  • Battle of Fredericksburg

    This was one of the biggest battles to the south. This was one of the terrible defeats for the south and they lost 6000 men. This battle boosted morale for many northerners
  • Emancipation Proclamation

    Abraham Lincoln made the Emancipation Proclamation when the us came the third year in the civil war. The proclamation declared that all slaves within the southern states were free
  • Battle of Gettysburg

    This was one of the deadliest battles in history. This battle led to tens of thousands of deaths. This was consitered the turning point of the war
  • 54th Massachusetts Fight at Fort Wagner

    This battle was fought with the African Americans after they were freed. They went to attack Massachusetts. Sadly they lost this war to the south
  • Gettysburg Address

    This addressed what happened in Gettysburg. The deal was that Abe wanted to respect the people that died in the battle. He said that he wanted to honor them because without them we could've lost the war
  • Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse

    This was the thing that ended the war. The south and north met in the living room of some mans house and that is what ended the war. they signed a treaty and the war had ended.
  • Sherman’s March to the Sea

    This was when Sherman marched to Georgia and burned everything along the way. This is significant because it lowered south's likeliness to win and basically was the end of the war
  • 13th Amendment Passed

    This was the amendment that changed america forever. This got rid of all slavery. This was a win for the north. But south were mad about it. In the end this is what Abe Lincoln wanted.
