  • Bacon's rebellion

    Bacon create his own army to fight the Natives until they were stopped by British government and they rebellion crumbled shortly after.

    It was a revival of religion in the early 1700s for the English colonies and brought new ideas to them
  • French/Indian War

    A war between the French/Natives and Colonists/Britain. This war lasted from 1754-1763. George Washington helped in the war. Also, the french were winning for a long time until the British came in. This left the British in Debt and started to tax the colonists.
  • Treaty of Paris

    France signed the Treaty of Paris which ultimately ended the war and gave Britain American property.
  • Proclamation line of 1763

    Signed to prohibit Colonist exploration west of the Appalachia.
  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    Battles with Native Americans were set against the British because they were unsatisfied with the solution to the war.
  • British colonial acts

    Stamp act: Written papers, formal documents, newspapers, etc. are increased in tax
    Townshend Act: Increased taxes on tea, glass, etc.
    Quatering Act: Colonists need to house British soldiers in their inns and houses.
    Tea Act: Keeps the tea taxed after the Townshend act was removed
    All of these caused colonists to rebel in some way.
  • Boston Massacre

    British soldiers started to shoot civilians in the streets after ordered but one soldier shot before ordered.
  • Boston tea party

    Civilians joined on a rebelliation and threw hundreds of crates of tea into the ocean. This caused the intolerable acts on the colonists.
  • First Continental Congress

    Representatives in every colony came to this meeting except Georgia to discuss how to get freedom in the colonies. King George III denied their document.
  • Common sense

    A book that was written to describe what is wrong with what Britain is doing and it is common sense that it is wrong. This was very popular in the colonies.
