    Steven Spielberg was born in Ohio in 1946. During his childhood, he became very intrested in film and making movies. At the age of 16, he made his first movie or "Talkie" called "Firelight".     Steven graduates from California State college and soon after gets a job at Universal Televison Studios. A few months later, he makes his first featured film called "Sugarland Express" (CNN).
  • Beginning of Career

    In the years following, Steven made his most famous and well-known movies including "Jaws", which was the first movie to make over $100 million setting the criteria for summer blockbuster films (CNN).   • More Movies

    After Jaw, Steven made various other famous movies such as “E.T”., “Indiana Jones”, and “The Color Purple” up until 1985. In 1991, he marries his second wife Kate Capshaw who he met on the set of “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (CNN).
  • Most Sucessful Movies

    Soon after, Steven makes probably two of his most successful movies including “Jurassic Park”, which made $350 million and is number 5 of the top grossing movies ever. And “Schindler's List”, which won two Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director (CNN).

  • Career in the 21st Century

    Not long after winning those two Oscars, Steven wins Best Director again for his movie “Saving Private Ryan”. In the past few years, Steven has continued to have a large role in film making. Some of the most current films he has made includes “Munich”, “Super 8”, and “Lincoln”.

    In the last few years, Steven has continued to make many well-known movies. Over the course of his life, he has influenced film making and has become a very repsected film director. He also has been nominated for over 100 various awards and has been given numerous honors.
    The primary source i chose to use here is a political cartoon made when Steven was given the honor to judge at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
