  • Armenian Genocide

    Armenian Genocide
    Took place in the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans tried to exterminate the Armenian subjects. The Ottomans deported, mass burned, drowned, and poisoned/drugged the Armenians. The Minister of War blamed the Armenians living in the Istanbul area for helping the Russians. 1,800,000 people lost their lives.
  • Rape of Nanjing

    Rape of Nanjing
    Took place in China, in Nanjing. The Japanese started war upon the Chinese. Japanese soldiers killed civilians for no reason, Woman were brutally raped and stabbed to death. The Japanese wanted to imperialize and ethnically clense the Chinese. 250,000 people lost their lives to the brutal massacre.

    Soviet Purges
    Took place in the Soviet Union between communists and the Russian government. Removal of undesireables by the Russian government to stop an uprising and get rid of the Bolsheviks. 400,000 people were uprooted from their homes.

    Took place during World War II, in German occupied territory.
    The peoples that were involved were the Nazi's and people of the Jewish faith.The nazi's took the Jewish people, herded them like cattle, burnt them, gassed them, or made them do physical labor.The nazis convinced the Germans that the Jewish peoples were the cause of all their problems. Six million Jewish people lost their lives to the Holocaust.

  • My Lai Massacure

    My Lai Massacure
    This event took place in My Lai, Vietnam. The US and Vietnam were involded in this Massacre. The human rights violations were carried out by the US soldiers that were in the 1st Platoon because they went into a small villiage and started to open fire on small kids and their parents which were farmers and they also slit thorats and just shot them in cold blood. It happened because the the name of the mission was search and destroy . There were no more than 504 people killed and no less than 175.

    Took place in Uganda between the Lugbara and Kakwa were slaughtering the Acholi and Langi. Many Asian Ugandan's were expelled due to their race. Idi Amin believed that Asian's were inferior to them. around 400,000 people were affected by this tragic event

    Chile under Augusto Pinochet
    Took place in Chile between Chilien people. Humans were violated because he converted arenas into jails and either put people who didn't follow him in there or he exiled them. Around 2,000 were killed.

    Took place in Phnom Penh, between communists against Cambodia. Starvation, and people were executed due to their jobs. The communists wanted to destroy Cambodia because they saw it as the center of capitalism. Approximately 1 million people were murdered.

    Took place in Iraq between Saddam Hussein (The Iraq Government) and the people of Iraq. Humans were violated with a series of secret police, torture, rape, assassinations, forced disappearances, deportations, mass murder, and chemical warfare. Saddam wanted to change everyones ideas, but ultimately failed. Approximately 800,000 people were murdered under Saddam's regime

    Samalia Civil War
    Took place in Samalia, between different clans. Mass murders, starvation, and serious droughts plagued the land. Political corruptions, and government corruptness were what led up to the Civil War. 2.7 million people have been affected by this disaster.

    Genocide in Boznia and Herzegovnia
    Took place in the Balkan regions between Serbia and Bosnia. People were carried off in buses and slaughtered by the Serbians. It happened because Bosnia attempted to secede. Around 30,000 people were murdered and carried to their deaths.

    Took place in Rwanda, The Tutsi population fought the Hutu government. Hutus searched for people in schools and churches and executed them all violently. Mass killings were performed. The Hutus looked down upon the Tootsi's and the Tootsis tried to rise up but were slaughtered. Aproximately 20% of the country's population was destroyed.

    Took place in Sudan between local tribes and the government. Villagers were deported or slaughtered or starved. Disagreements within the government and rebels being ethnically clensed. 300,000 people were affected by this tragedy.

    It took place in Sierra Leone, Africa. It was between Sierra Leone and its people. Human rights violation took place because there army was hiring people under the age of 18 for the army. They could potienally die and that is a big problem if they didn't want to join in the first place.
