Beagle voyages: Geological Observations on South America
In 1846, Darwin published his book "Beagle Voyages." This book is based on his travels during the second voyage of HMS Beagle. He had always kept a diary alongside his journey and had kept a record of his findings and curiosities. He acquired an impressive collection of vertebrate fossils in South America and wrote about it in his book. The Beagle Voyage was the starting point of his journey from which he was led to the development of his theory on the origin and evolution of species.

    Darwin's Contributions: Theory of Evolution
Darwin published his explanation of the theory of evolution in his publication of the origin of species by the means of natural selection. This theory was quintessential because it explained that any species transform over time, become new species, but share common ancestors. His contributions were many and diverse in the fields of biology, philosophy of science, and the modern zeitgeist. He was awarded the Copley Medal, Wollaston Medal, Royal Medal, and a fellow of the Royal Society awards.
