    The NAtioal Hockey League was established on November 22nd 1917. However, it wasn't until four days later, on November 26th, that five clubs officially joined the new league. The Ottawa Senators, the Quebec Bulldogs, the Montreal Canadiens, the Montreal Wanderers, and the Toronto Arenas were the first teams before it quickly grew into what it has become today.
