(this is an incorrect date, becuase this is as far back as it can go) Aristotle was a greek scentist who was one of the people who thought up the theory of sponteneous generation, and spread the ides throghout society. in around 300 BC, he said that some animals are born from those of like kinds (parents), and that some organisms were sponteneously generated.

    francecso reddi
In 1668 reddi constructed experiments whit meat in jars to try and disprove the idea of spontaneou gneration. He had several jars with meat at the bottom, and he covered half of them with guaze, and left half uncovered. Only the meat that was uncovered obtained maggots, proving that maggots cannot spontaneously generate.
  • Jhon Needham

Jhon Needham tried to prove the theory of sponteneous generation in the right conditions by doing an experiment with broth were he boiled it to remove all the germs then he sealed it and waited a few days until there was bacteria growing. he said that proved the theory, however, in reality he did not heat the broth up enough to kill all the germs.
  • lazzaro spallanzani

lazzaro spallanzani was an Italian scientist who heard about the experiments done by john needham, and he set out to discredit them. he did the same experiment in more detail. he boiled broth in two flasks, and sealed one, but left the other open. bacteria developed only in the unsealed one, while the sealed one remained uncloudy. however, scientists discredited his experiment, because they said air was necessary for the generation, and he had sealed the flask.
  • Louise Pasteur

    Louise Pasteur
Louise Pasteur was a scientist who looked at all the experiments done so far, and he designed a new one, one that would have air accsesable to the broth, but still not develop bacteris. he made a cuved neck in a bottle, and put boiled broth inside. for a year, no bacteria developed, because dust and microbes would get caught in neck of the bottles. then, he broke off the neck, and within days the broth clouded over. he finally disproved the erroneus theory of sponteneous generation.
