    -What it is: Schools were now officially not allowed to separate student from other student due to their disability(ies) or behavior issues.
    -Relevance: I went to a public elementary school, and I think having all different types of students in my classes improved everyone's learning experience.

    -Date(s): 1973
    -What it is: This was the first disability civil rights law to be passed in the US. It made it so that discrimination against people with disabilities in any schools that receive funding from the government.
    -Relevance: Growing up going to public schools, it allowed all students to have equal education opportunities.

    -Date: 1975
    -What it is: IDEA made it so that students with disabilities are provided with an equal opportunity to all other students (free education opportunities). It provided students with additional help and programs they need to receive a good education.
    -Relevance: I had to go to an extra help reading group that was possible because of this act.

    -Date(s): July 26, 1990
    -What it is: ADA made it so that people with disabilities can not be discriminated against. In this case it is not just limited to schools, it is everywhere in any situation.
    -Relevance: This makes the communities have a more diverse group of people because it give all people equal living opportunities which I think is very important.
