    Brown v. Board
    Even though after the Civil War had ended and the thirteenth amendment had been passed. Africans Americans still are treated differently. Education was one of the ways you can see the discrimination. Brown v. Board. The case consisted of public schools being segregated. Whites and Black were getting different education. This case was taken to the supreme court to make sure every child was given the same education. This case opened the way for schools to eventually be desegregated.
  • Elementary and secondary education Act

    Elementary and secondary education Act
    The president of the United States Lyndon B. Johnson put forward this act that would bring education to even the poorest children. This children could have an education even though they were born into poverty they could have access to the same privileges that children more fortunate opportunities. They could also have access to funding, resources and materials.

    Children that had mental retardations couldnt get free education unless they had the mentality/abilities of a 5 year old. They would be given opportunity not just for education but helped them function in society. Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Citizens and the families of children with intellectual disabilities wanted to a fair education for their children.

    Some children were called "exceptional" because of their diability. This court case allowed students with mental retardation, emotionally disturbed, physically handicapped, hyperactive and other children with behavioral problems to get an education.

    This was a law that allowed children with disabilities to have an education but one that is just like other children that do not have a disability. This act made public schools to allow children to come into their schools and for the schools to be responsible of educating them. Also allowed parents to have a say in the education of their children.

    Board of Education of the Hendrick Hudson Central School District v. Rowley
    Amy Rowley was a deaf student who was denied access to an interpreter. Her parents didnt agree with the schools decision to now allow her to have one. The court case was against the Hendrick Hudson Central School Distric. This was a law that stated “free appropriate public education” according to the students ability. They would have access free of charge to their parents to any resource that would help the students full potential.

    This was a law that was passed that didnt restrict parents from being able to fight for their childs education how they see fit. They didnt want other laws to influence the resources that the students are able to receive. But the law was passed so that they could have an education thats fair to even a child with disabilities.

    This law was passed in 1990 for all people with disability who were being discriminated against because of their disability. Some jobs did not hire people with disabilities. When this law was passed the jobs could not discriminate against them. It allowed them to be able to get a job, and have a fair chance of receiving it. Regardless of your age,sex,national origin and religion.

    Was a law passed for the students with disabilities with the view of allowing them to have the best education and being in the least restrictive environment.
  • No Child Left Behind

    No Child Left Behind
    a law that was passed by President George W. Bush, to allow the resources to be available to children that come from poor families and their environment is not conducive to their education.They also allowed the students to be assessed. This law made sure all students got the help they needed without having to pay extra money. Especially if the family wasnt able to pay for it.
