  • Hobson v. Hansen (1969)

    This is the case of African-American parents, who filed a lawsuit individually and on behalf of their minor children accusing the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education of the District of Columbia and Carl Hansen of racial discrimination.
  • Diana v. State Board of Education (1970)

    this is another case where the use of tests in placement of students was challenged and addressed the issue of using culturally biased tests for special education placement.
  • Larry P v. Wilson Riles (1979)

    Larry P. was a African American student in the state of California, this case was filed in 1977 against the school district Superintendent (Riles), the California Board of Education, and San Francisco Board of Education. Larry P.’s case challenged the usage of IQ tests to place students in EMR classes.
