  • Public Law 88-164

    Funds to train professional to work with special needs children backed by JFK.
  • Federal Actions for Students Who Are Gifted

    Javits Act public law 100-297. Provided a small amount of money to support research and aslo demonstate programs that focus on special needs of gifted students.
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act Public law 93-112

    Illegal to deny participation in activities or programs solely because a child has a disability.
  • Public Law 94-142

    Education for All hadicapped Children Act. Assure that they all had free and appopriate public education.
  • Public Law 99-457

    Insured children with handicaps would get federal funds from birth on, meaning that younger children that were left out from the previous laws would be helped here.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act

    Public law 101-336. Extends the civil rights act of 1964 to persons with disabilities.
  • No Child Left Behind Act

    Public law 107-110. It holds schools and educators responsible for bringing all students to a minimum level of competency.
  • Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

    This was to improve the orignal Education for all Handicapped children Act by improving: Quality of personnel, IEP standards, and transition services.

    Stimulate economic activity in a number of areas one of which was education.
