    In this court case they addressed the issue of class placement. Before this case students were placed in classes based on a series of tests and their IQ's. This case helped to get rid of this.     This Act gave students with disabilities the legal rights to a free and appropriate education, least restrictive environments, rights for the parents, and many other legal rights to help disabled children be educated.

    This court case focused on the topic of appropriate education. This court case focused mainly on students with hearing problems and helped to define what and appropriate education is. The final determination is that an appropriate education is one that allows for maximum learning and success but focuses more on the equal and possible opportunities presented to the student.     This law helped with the issue of reimbursement. This was put in place because not all public schools were providing what is needed so children were placed in private schools.
