  • Brown v. Board of Education (1954)

    This court case was put into place to stop racial segregation within schools. This will then give students of different ethical backgrounds the same education.

  • Richard Nixon is inaugurated as President of the United States.

  • PARC v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

    This court case took place because it was believed that education laws were denying the rights of the children. As a result do to this case they proved free public education to those with a mental disabilty.

  • Mills v. Board of Education of the District of Columbia

    This case made students with disabilities must have public education fearlessness if they have the money or not to do so. Prior to this students were not allowed to have the same educational opportunities due to mental illness.

  • End of the Vietnam War

    This was put into place to make sure that the rights of the children and parents were kept in place. It was also put into place to make sure students with disabilities have ability to attend public schools that had special services for them

    This gave the parents of students more say in a student's IEP. This, in turn, gives parents a better opportunity to help their children succeed academically.

    autism and traumatic brain injuries were now concerning disabilities. It also included a ITP for individuals with an IEP

  • Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act

    This was put into place to meet students' unique needs. It was also put in place to prepare students for the future whether it is more school or the workforce.

  • No Child Left Behind Out, Every Student Succeeds Act

    This acted was changes made to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. It Congress got rid of a major part of the accountability that was held in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
