Sputnik

Sputnik was launched on October 4, 1957 and it was the first orbiting satellite and stayed in orbit for 6 months. The Russians made it but the group was headed by Sergei Korlev. Sputnik weighed about 184 lbs, it was 2 feet across and about the size of a beach ball.

It was also known at satellite 1958 Alpha. It was designed and built by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida at 10:48 EST January, 1958.

Corona Discoverer 14

Corona is a satellite and was successfully launched on August 10, 1960. Several days later it was launched with a camera and film

Luna 10

Luna 10 is also known as Lunik 10. It was launched towards the Moon from Earth on March 31, 1966. It entered lunar orbit on April 3, 1966 and it was battery-powered!

First mission was launched on November 28, 1966. The first mission with a crew was on April 23, 1967. The first successful mission was on October 26, 1968. The only fatal mission was Soyuz 11 that killed a crew of 3

Canadarm

Canadarm was first launched on November 13, 1981. It was used to deploy and retrieve satellites from the space shuttle. It didn’t just help in space, it even helped in restaurants! It was about 293 tons and about 15.2 metres long.

Mars Rover

The Mars Rover was launched on June 10, 2003 and landed on Mars on January 3, 2003 PST. The Mars Rover cost about US 820 million dollars!
