The Space Race Begins
in 1957 the space race sarted with the Soviet Union creating the worlds first satilight named sputnik causing a giant ster in amarica as we were finaly out done by the soviets and we had to come back. -
Amarica bounces back
vary quickly amarica lanches its first satellite caching up to the soviets. Then bolth paties over the corse of a few more years each lanch many more satlellites into orbit. -
N.A.S.A is founded
later on in the year after exsplorer1 was lanched the government founded N.A.S.A an agencey to help work through space flight and reacherch to speed up space exploration and cach up to the soviet union -
The first human in space
On april 12 1961 a man by the name of Yuri Gagarin from the soviet union became the first man in space ever setting a new standered for amarica to beat and supass. -
kennedy gives a speech
A few weeks after the first amarican is lanched into space John F. Kennedy gives a speech on beaing the first contrey to land a man on the moon by the end of decade inspiring us to start to work on programs leading up to apolow. -
The gemini program is started
The gemini missions were flown in between the murcury and apolo missions. The missions helped us with our moon landing reaserch and would lead into the apolo program -
luna 10 takes orbit
The sovit union at this time then lanches another stilight this time so it becomes the first satilight to orbit the moon furethering our need to put a man on the moon and win the space. -
The last flight of the Gemini progect
The Gemini program had 12 sussfull missions th 12th beaing the last one before the applow program set in and became the main reasearch topic for space traval. -
The Zond 5 is launched
the soviets lanch the fith zond spacecraft ,and the many after it, soly for the moon with difrent biolagical matireals and 2 turtals and once the mission was compleated it became the soviet union's first successful circumlunar Earth-return mission. -
The moon lanch
On the date stated above the U.S lanched 2 men Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin into space to go to the moon and on july 21 Neil Armstrong became the first human on the moon finaly beating the soviet union and ending the space race.
